Only a short walk to ferry to head to down town. The bed was the best we have found in our travels.

The area of Double Bay is referred to by many as Double Pay because all of the shops in that area are very expensive! Our room was very small but it still was fine.

Breakfast was well priced and good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is excellent

My stay in 309 was good. The patio looked run down and had a lot of spider webs available for viewing.

Convenience to ferry and bus; friendly front desk.

  • Couple

Location was pretty much the only plus. The staff were helpful when we had issues with our room being too close to a smoking 'hole'.

Stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and the place is in desperate need of a smarten up - it was infinitely better 10 years ago. The fact that people can smoke outside room 111 is a disaster - we woke up inhaling vast amounts of cigarette smoke in our room and had to move rooms for our 2nd of 2 nights there. Really unpleasant. Vastly overpriced for what it is, value for money poor.

A lovely stay in an excellent location and great value for money. Staff were extemely helpful. Would stay here again when next in Sydney.

Not a dislike but a suggestion - a topper ( mattress soft top ) on the mattress would make it extra comfortable.

  • Group of friends

We stayed in a "family suite" which was one of several arranged around a central, internal courtyard. There were no external windows in the room, only windows opening to the central area, which was also a lounge area for all guests, so lots of noise from other rooms, little privacy.

Quite a bit. We had to ask for extra towels, only two provided for a four person room. The shampoo dispenser was empty, room was very crowded. At $200+ per night, even for a budget hotel, I would expect more. It was very run-down looking.

Nice hotel. Great newly renovated room was excellent for our young child. Recommend place to stay. We will be back. :-)

Entrance foyer needs some modernising. At first glance seems run down

our family was on a driving holiday to Canberra and Sydney we stayed at the Savoy in Double Bay. great location friendly staff we had a great time.perfect location to see the harbour, easy access by ferry. we had a great stay.

The potential of being unique with not a huge refurbishment... Some rooms are good some , some are very ordinary, however it has a charm and could be just like a NewYork style Boutique Hotel..

The little ground floor cafe could be great with a good coffee machine, and toasted sandwiche/Brioche.assortment...a little mood music .easy jazz and so on..People all over Double Bay would come for breakfast with a little style..it is a cute little return beneath the Hotel.....There is nothing around there except Zeppo/Cosmo... If I was the manager , I would make sure Guests do not leave the hotel to buy Espresso Coffee/Snacks/ push the cafe or serve a Breajkfast Platein the upstairs atrium...

Savoy rang us the night before we were booked in for and advised us that they had double booked and could they arrange alternate accommodation for us . We agreed Alternate accommodation was quite suitable.

    Customer service.

    Good desk help, pleasant atmospherep

The hotel is a bit rundown rooms could have used a rebpaint. our window was tiny.

  • Family with children

The Friendly service at Reception and being close to walking distance to restaurants, boarding school and public transport.

Other people coming back late at night and being noisy in hallways.

  • Family with children

The location is awesome. Step out of the door and you have shops and restaurants galore. It is a very short trip to the city by bus and also a short drive to many of Sydneys glorious beaches.

The hotel is having some much needed renovations so the room was very dusty and stuffy, which didn't really matter as we only spent from 930pm until 8am in the room. It is very dated but as I said looks as though it is having some renovations done. The rooms don't offer any noise protection. It was especially bad on the Friday night we stayed, you could hear people coming home really late and a baby crying like it was in our room.
